I’m Tristan (@nice_sprite), and this is where I write about network engineering, reverse engineering, and programming.
I started programming in C++ back when I was around 13 or 14, and I fondly remember being nagged by my 7th grade teachers for teaching myself to program in the back of the class. Game hacking taught me a lot about memory, assembly, and how operating systems work. It also taught me a lot about graphics, which led me to start my own game engine from scratch. This went through a few iterations in a couple different languages and graphics APIs. I settled on Odin and Vulkan and have no regrets. As of writing this, its been a while since I’ve even touched that engine because I am focusing on obtaining my CCNP ENCOR certification from Cisco.
I acquired my CCNA back in July 2025. It was a lot of fun and very rewarding, so I decided to strive for the CCNP with a focus in datacenter technologies. I plan to take the CCNP ENCOR in the first half of 2026, and to prepare for it I am labbing daily in ContainerLab. ContainerLab is nice because it makes it easy to share labs and keep track of them with version control. I’ll make a seperate post with a link to the repository and a simple walkthrough of some features inside the lab repo.
Until then, thanks for reading!
